Sustainability

Bamatex Home Textiles BV is known for supplying high quality products in terry towels, bed linen and table linen. Customer satisfaction is the most important thing for us. Our holistic approach to sustainability means that we do not act one-dimensionally, but follow the three-pillar model of sustainable development: social, ecological and economic.

For us, social responsibility is synonymous with shaping a future worth living for all. That is why we are committed to the following guidelines:

  • UN Human Rights Charter
  • UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP)
  • UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • UN Convention on the Rights of Women
  • Core Labour Standards of the International Labour Organisation (ILO)
  • OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
  • OECD Sectoral Guidance Documents
  • The ten UN Global Compact Principles
  • International environmental framework ZDHC

Partnership with selected business partners
We only work with selected business partners. They commit to socially responsible, safe working conditions and environmentally friendly production processes at least by signing our Code of Conduct, but usually through a recognized certification. These are verified by third parties such as BSCI and/or SEDEX and also by our own agents.

The management of Bamatex home textiles visits our suppliers on a regular basis. We visit the production plant or meet at professional trade fairs. We constantly strive to strengthen the long-term partnership.

Our local agents visit the various production plants on a regular basis. They help our suppliers to grow in operational excellence and ethical and sustainable business behaviour.

Via training we inform management and employees of our code of conduct.
Proud amfori BSCI member
BSCI is an initiative of the Foreign Trade Association (FTA), the leading business association of European and international commerce that brings together over 1,500 retailers, importers, brands and national associations to improve the political and legal framework for trade in a sustainable way. Membership of amfori BSCI helps us achieve our goal of being a sustainable trader, monitoring our supply chain and partnering with our suppliers. We have chosen this organisation because of its extended experience on an international scale and its hands-on approach. Training and exchanging best practices helps us to improve at all levels.

Prevention and mitigation negative impacts
We carry out a comprehensive risk assessment for countries and for suppliers. We seek ways to prevent, mitigate and redress actual negative impacts in our supply chain. Therefore, we have chosen to increase the use of 'Made in Green' certified items and are exploring the use of recycled cotton and organic cotton in products.

It is our goal to continuously improve our footprint (socially and environmentally). When purchasing or developing new products, we look for solutions with the least negative impact.
